Detailed look at my WildFly Hosting

I purchased a WildFly Hosting plan with JDK 17 for a new enterprise application. The ordering process was straightforward, and I received my account details within an hour. Migration from my previous provider was surprisingly smooth, thanks to their detailed knowledge base articles and the cPanel access, which made file transfers easy. Performance has been consistently good, even under moderate load, and the dedicated IP is a nice touch. I had to contact support once about a custom JVM argument, and they responded within a few hours with the correct information. The only minor point is that I initially looked for a Docker Java Hosting option, but settled for WildFly, which works, but native Docker would have been a bonus. Overall, very satisfied with the stability and features provided.

My new favorite host!

I just signed up for Tomcat 10 Hosting and it's fantastic! Everything was so easy to set up, and my app is flying. I'm so glad I found Jvmhost, definitely recommending them to all my developer friends. This is exactly what I needed for my Java projects!

Fast and reliable

Got a Private JVM Hosting plan. Setup was quick. My Spring Boot app runs great. No downtime so far. Good value.

Good performance, some setup quirks

I recently signed up for their Shared Java Hosting for a small project. The Tomcat 9 instance has been quite responsive, which was my main concern. I opted for the annual billing to get the discount, which felt like a good deal. Setting up my application was a bit more involved than I expected, the cPanel interface for Java apps isn't as intuitive as I'd hoped, but I got there eventually. Customer support was helpful when I had a question about JDK versions. Overall, a solid service, just a slightly steeper learning curve for deployment.

Good value for a first timer

I was looking for an affordable Java host and found Jvmhost. I took advantage of their first month discount for a Shared Java Hosting plan. It felt like a really good deal to test things out without a huge commitment. The features for the price were impressive, especially compared to other places I looked at. My project is small, but it's running well. I'm definitely considering the annual plan after this initial period.

Consistent performance for GlassFish

This is my third year with Jvmhost, mainly using their GlassFish Hosting. I renewed my triennial billing plan because they've consistently delivered. The performance has been stable, just like my previous terms, and I haven't experienced any unexpected issues. Their support has always been quick to respond when I've had questions about JVM memory upgrades or general configuration. It's comforting to know I can rely on them for my production applications. They've maintained their quality over time.

I'm a student and trying to save some cash. Do they offer any kind of student discount for their hosting plans?

J Julia Bennett 2 months ago
I've seen some chatter about it, but never personally used one. I think it's worth asking their sales team or looking around during back-to-school season.

They used to, or at least had a developer discount that was pretty similar. It's not always super obvious on their site, but sometimes you can find codes floating around or by asking.

How do I even apply a promo code here? I don't see an obvious box during checkout.

J Julia B. 3 months ago
It usually pops up later in the checkout process, I think on the review order page or just before final payment. They mostly push the annual/biennial discounts though.

Yeah, it's not like a big field right at the start. Keep an eye out as you go through the steps, it'll show up eventually.

Thinking of moving my app from A2 Hosting. Is JVM Host actually better for Java specifically, or just more of the same?

C Chris L. 2 months ago
From my experience, JVM Host is way more optimized for Java apps. A2 is good for general hosting, but JVM Host really shines with all the specific Java environments and tools they offer.

If your app is Java-heavy, JVM Host is probably a better bet. A2 is more general purpose. You'll likely get better performance and more tailored support with JVM Host for Java stuff.

Are there any deals for signing up for a longer period, like paying for a year upfront?

C Cleo G. 2 months ago
Definitely. They almost always give you a good chunk off if you pay annually or even longer. That's usually better than any first-month discount.

R Rachel Doyle 2 months ago
Yep, it's their main discount strategy. The longer you commit, the better the price per month. Check the annual or triennial options, they're often 10-20% cheaper overall.

Hey, thinking about switching my Spring Boot app over to JVM Host. Are they any good for production stuff, like does it actually run stable?

D Dana D. 3 months ago
Yeah, I've had my main app on their private JVM plan for about a year now. Pretty solid, no weird crashes or anything. Their support is pretty responsive too if anything pops up.

I use their shared Java hosting for a smaller project and it's been mostly fine. For production, I'd probably go with one of their dedicated or cloud VPS options though, just for peace of mind.
